Witnessing a rather peculiar event as she touched down on the back of her Dragonite, Petra withdrew it in favor of another, much smaller pokemon. Her Alolan Meowth, which she only recently got, was waiting outside for her to get home.

It followed her side as she took out her phone, snapping a picture and then sending it straight to FERNANDO SILPH before stepping into the garden. She noticed the berry bush that had begun to bear fruit, which seemed to hold Uxie's interest. But it didn't belong to her, and she could tell it was no ordinary berry. DEREK HOFFMAN wouldn't let her hear the end of it if she just let a pokemon eat it. He'd said something about it being important, and he'd appreciate if she made sure it was okay while he was away.

The APPLETUN in the corner had been resting. No matter. She'd seen them run away when wild pokemon showed up. "Meowth, grab that pokemon and bring it to me - before it takes the berry."

Seeking to accomplish the task it was given, the Meowth moved to restrain the intruder. However, before it was caught in the grip of it's claws, the Uxie teleported out of sight. At the very least, they managed to defend the berry.

Wait. What were they doing out here in the garden? There was a berry and...

fernando replies to petra's text with a simple question mark. when she looks at the previous message, it's a picture she doesn't remember sending to him.

that makes little sense considering the picture is just a plain photo of her garden. the odd blur around the plants makes her think the picture was taken with great haste, as if the camera was in motion. why else would the quality be so bad?

squirtle was. and guess what? ~~janie's~~ squirtle's got a gun.

he was always a shooter - always would be. wanna guess what happened?

[break]

squirtle shot his shot, and the ~~hippowdon~~ rest was history. it isn't until petra returns home with groceries that the unconscious creature is truly disposed of. and even though it meant more work for her, her squirtle definitely earned a treat for defending her garden from certain annihilation.

Taking the day to work with one of the pokemon of her past, Petra's time in the garden accompanied by her Armaldo provides some solace. Riddled with the shadow mutation which entailed a perpetually aggravated state, the peaceful serenity in her quaint little garden was something the fossil species appeared capable of enjoying...

At least until the wild Clodsire appeared. "W-wait no, stop!" Petra exclaims, struggling to get up and race to beat the wild pokemon to the berries of her garden. Armaldo assumed the provocation, answering in kind with it's BRINE attack. The poison jab that followed would never be enough to dissuade it from continuing the battle.

"Careful with the berries!" A second BRINE would prove ever more devastating than the last for the injured Clodsire. And then the IRON TAIL for good measure... Petra could tell her pokemon still had a ways to go in handling it's special condition.

"Thanks." The words are murmured under her breath, retrieving the Armaldo into it's pokeball before the thing could hurt the Clodsire any further. It would receive a similar fate, captured by a spare pokeball fetched from her pocket.

"Now what am I going to name you?" All kinds of possible names filtered through her mind as she inspected the flora for damage...
